It is not difficult to train a dog a collar and lead, but it is much more difficult to train an older puppy who is not trained to a collar and a lead at all. Moreover, it is much easier to help a puppy to get used to it than you can imagine!
The matrix of success is simple, as usually: patience and labor. After reading of this article you will surely train your puppy to these necessary equipment: a dog collar and a dog lead.

Puppy training begins since it is 3 months old, upbringing and getting used to necessary things (toilet, bed etc.) - since its appearance at home. It is early to train a puppy until it is three months old. But you can help a pet to get used to a leash - it is indispensable. How would you walk a puppy without it?
Frequently, it takes about 3-4 days to train a dog to a collar. Take a collar on a dog. It will surely will not like it and as a sigh of rebellion it may bite an owner's hand (here you will need a command "Drop it / Stop") Control yourself! If a dog bites you - try not to burst and don't follow your emotions.
Then, if a dog is trying to take the collar off, take its favorite toy and try to turn its attention. Hold the first exercises at home or in the yard, but not for a long time. It is enough to train a dog to a collar 10-15 min twice a day.
Now lets go further to a dog training to a lead. It is the time to train a dog to a lead when it has already got used to a collar. But it may be also done at the same time as well: when you train a puppy to a collar just fasten a lead to a collar.
It is made the following way: at home, and even better while walking, fasten a dog lead to a collar and allow a dog to walk without your control. If it feels anxiety, come to a puppy and play with it. After 5 minutes you may take a leash and walk along with a dog.
If it is not willing to go, draw it with a treat and call its name. As soon as it begins to walk, praise it and use a delicacy as a "goal' for the puppy, continuing to move forward. Stop after several steps and give food to a puppy and don't forget to praise it! Try to choose the best treat for a puppy.
If it does not want to go even after a treat, use a toy. Just keep going holding a lead. Don't pull a dog on a leash. Attract it with the help of a favorite toy or an object that seems attractive for a dog to play with. Make a dog interested with an object and walk with a puppy on a lead a little bit. Involved in the game, it may walk any distances.

A dog of 1-2 months old should be taught to a leash without mechanical irritation like pulling on a leash. Demands to a puppy of such a tender age are not huge. If a dog is pulling on a leash - be calm, don't use punishment. It will be easier to walk for you a dog if it will play and run enough.
Since 3 months old you are to use mechanical irritation as a training tool. An irritation is necessary to use in the order to prevent dog pulling, that makes a walking unbearable for a dog owner. It is not always possible to train a dog to walking on a leash just with a help of a game and food.
It is supposed, that a dog of 3 months old should be trained to a command "With me", training to walk at the left leg. Don't worry that a dog will not play enough walking all the time by your side as a soldier. You should better bring a dog to a place where it may play and run free expressing its energy. Because it will not run and enjoy it while walking on a leash.
Training a dog to a leash is a very important action. But let a puppy enjoy a play as long as it likes - it is a child yet.
To make a dog literally "fly" into a collar you should use a very simple means. You know that dogs like walking. Use it! Wear a collar on a dog before going to walk. Then fasten a leash and go walking.
Majority of dog owners will tell you, that dog's attitude to a lead is very positive, some dogs even "ask" for it (without training)!
